Sibi Sathyaraj, also known as Sibiraj, is an Indian actor active in the Tamil film industry and the son of veteran actor Sathyaraj. Educated at Sherwood Hall Senior Secondary School, Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and Loyola College in Chennai, Sibi pursued a degree in commerce. His cinematic journey began with the 2003 film “Student Number 1,” although his anticipated debut in “Swami,” a Tamil remake of the Malayalam film “Nandanam,” was shelved during pre-production. Sibi’s initial films, such as “Jore” (2004) and “Mannin Maindhan” (2005), saw him sharing screen space with his father, Sathyaraj. “Lee” (2007), produced by Sathyaraj and directed by Prabhu Solomon, marked a significant turn in his career as he portrayed a football player. Despite setbacks with shelved projects like “Perumal Swamy” and “Pattasu,” Sibi persisted. He returned to the screen with “Naanayam” (2010), featuring him in his first negative role, although the film failed to make an impact commercially. Following a hiatus, Sibi undertook an acting workshop at the New York Film Academy before resuming his career with “Naaigal Jaakirathai” (2014), where he shared the screen with a Belgian Shepherd dog. Subsequent projects including “Pokkiri Raja” (2016) and “Jackson Durai” (2016) showcased his versatility. In 2020, he portrayed a cop in the action thriller “Walter” directed by U. Anbarasan. He followed this with “Kabadadaari” (2021), a neo-noir thriller, which was a remake of the Kannada film “Kavaludaari.”
