Ramya Pandian

Ramya Pandian, an Indian actress renowned for her work in Tamil language films, earned recognition for her roles in “Joker” (2016) and “Aan Devathai” (2018). Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, affiliated with Anna University, she initially pursued a career as a Research and Development Analyst before advancing to the position of Business Development Manager. Her journey in the entertainment industry began when she collaborated with Mani Ratnam’s assistant director, Shelley, on a short film titled “Maane Theyne Ponmaane.” Although she auditioned for Balaji Sakthivel’s “Ra Ra Rajasekhar,” the project did not materialize. Nevertheless, her talent was recognized, leading to her acting debut in the low-budget film “Dummy Tappasu” (2015). Subsequently, Ramya’s performance in “Dummy Tappasu” caught the attention of director Raju Murugan, who cast her in the critically acclaimed film “Joker” (2016). In the movie, she portrayed the role of a village belle, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Her performance garnered praise from audiences and industry insiders alike. Following her success in “Joker,” Ramya was approached by filmmaker Samuthirakani to portray the role of a working mother in “Aan Devathai” (2018). Embracing the opportunity, she delivered a compelling performance, effectively portraying the struggles of balancing motherhood with a career. Her portrayal earned accolades from critics, affirming her acting prowess. Ramya further showcased her versatility by participating in the cooking show “Cooku with Comali” and serving as a judge on the comedy television program “Kalakka Povathu Yaaru.” Her appearance on “Cooku with Comali” garnered widespread acclaim, leading to her becoming the second runner-up on the show. In 2020, Ramya gained immense popularity as a contestant on the fourth season of the reality show “Bigg Boss Tamil,” where she emerged as the second runner-up. Subsequently, she played the female lead in the web series “Mugilan,” released on ZEE5 in October 2020. Currently, Ramya Pandian is set to star in upcoming projects, including a film produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and another produced by C. V. Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment. With her talent and diverse range of roles, Ramya continues to make a significant impact in the Tamil film industry.
