Dilara Hanif Rita, widely known by her stage name Purnima, is a highly esteemed Bangladeshi film actress, born on July 11, 1971, in Chittagong. Her parents, Mohammad Hanif and Sufia Begum, raised her alongside her sister Dilruba Hanif, who is also an actress. Purnima’s illustrious career began with her debut film “E Jibon Tomar Amar” in 1998. However, she gained widespread recognition with her role opposite Riaz in the Indian-Bangladeshi film “Moner Majhe Tumi” (2003), which garnered immense popularity among audiences. Throughout her career, Purnima has delivered notable performances in films such as “Megher Por Megh” (2004), which depicted the liberation war of Bangladesh, earning her critical acclaim. Additionally, her portrayal in “Shasti” (2004), based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore and directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, further solidified her reputation as a versatile and talented actress. In 2005, Purnima starred alongside Shakib Khan in “Shuva,” also directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, where she portrayed a mute girl, showcasing her versatility as an actor.
