Poonam Bajwa, an Indian actress, has showcased her talent across Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada cinema. Her journey in the film industry began in 2005 with her debut in the Telugu film “Modati Cinema.” Born to Amarjit Singh Bajwa and Jayalakshmi Bajwa in Bombay, Poonam hails from a Punjabi background. She was crowned Miss Pune in 2005, which marked the beginning of her modeling career alongside her studies. Despite excelling academically and pursuing a degree in English Literature from Symbiosis International University, Pune, Poonam’s interest in films led her to venture into acting. While in Hyderabad for a ramp show, she was spotted by the director of “Modati Cinema” who offered her a role in the film. With a five-month gap before college, Poonam seized the opportunity and made her acting debut in the Telugu industry. Following her debut, Poonam appeared in several Telugu films, including “Boss” opposite Nagarjuna and Bhaskar’s “Parugu.” In 2008, she marked her debut in Tamil cinema with the Hari-directed masala film “Seval.” Subsequently, she starred in Tamil films like “Thenavattu” and “Kacheri Arambam,” both alongside Jeeva, as well as “Drohi” and “Thambikottai.” She also ventured into Malayalam cinema with the movie “China Town.” In her personal life, Poonam Bajwa announced her relationship with director Suneel Reddy via Instagram in October 2020. Throughout her career, Poonam Bajwa has exhibited versatility and garnered praise for her performances in various languages. With her dedication and talent, she has carved a niche for herself in the South Indian film industry, continuing to captivate audiences with her on-screen presence and acting prowess.
