Nithya Menen, born on April 8, 1990, is a versatile Indian actress and singer renowned for her work in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil cinema. With a repertoire spanning over 50 films, she is celebrated for her remarkable acting prowess. Menen’s tryst with the silver screen began at the tender age of eight, appearing in the French-Indian English film “Hanuman” (1998), where she portrayed the younger sister of Tabu’s character. By the age of 15, she ventured into Kannada cinema with a supporting role in “7 O’ Clock,” released in 2006. Her cinematic journey gained momentum when she landed her first leading role in the Malayalam film “Aakasha Gopuram” (2008). This marked the beginning of her illustrious career as a leading actress in Malayalam cinema. Subsequently, she made her mark in Telugu and Tamil cinema with leading roles in “Ala Modalaindi” (2011) and “Nootrenbadhu” (2011), respectively. Her Hindi debut came with “Mission Mangal” (2019). Born in Bangalore to Malayali parents settled in Karnataka, Menen received her education at Poorna Prajna School and Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Initially aspiring to become a pilot, she later shifted her focus to filmmaking and enrolled in a cinematography course at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. It was during the institute’s entrance exam that she crossed paths with B. V. Nandini Reddy, who persuaded her to pursue acting. Menen’s linguistic abilities are noteworthy, as she is fluent in six languages, including Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English. From her humble beginnings as a child actor to her ascent as a leading figure in Indian cinema, Nithya Menen continues to captivate audiences with her talent and versatility.
