Nikki Galrani

Nikita Galrani, born on January 3, 1992, in Bangalore, is an Indian actress recognized for her contributions to Tamil and Malayalam cinema. Hailing from a Sindhi family, she is the younger daughter of Manohar and Reshma Galrani and has an elder sister, Sanjjanaa, who is also an actress. Galrani received her education at Bishop Cotton Girls’ School and later pursued her PUC at Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, Bangalore. Despite initially studying science to fulfill her family’s wish for her to become a doctor, she eventually pursued her passion for fashion designing. After completing her education, she ventured into modeling and appeared in numerous advertisements, ultimately transitioning into the film industry. Galrani’s breakthrough in Malayalam cinema came in 2014 with the sports drama “1983.” Directed by Abrid Shine and starring Nivin Pauly, the film portrayed her as Manjula Sasidharan, a village girl deeply in love with cricket. Her performance garnered widespread acclaim, earning her awards for Best Debut Actress from Filmfare, SIIMA, and Vanitha. Following this success, she ventured into other film industries, signing her first Kannada project, “Ajith,” and her debut Tamil film, “Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka.” However, it was “1983” that marked her debut release and established her as a promising talent in the industry. Galrani’s subsequent releases further solidified her position in the Malayalam film industry. She appeared in “Vellimoonga” as a Christian nurse, which emerged as a significant commercial success, earning over ?20 crores at the box office. At the end of 2014, she was hailed as the most successful actress in Malayalam cinema. Additionally, she embarked on several Kannada projects, including “Jamboo Savari,” “Obiraya,” and “Paravashanadenu,” further expanding her reach across different regional cinemas. Despite her rising success, Galrani faced scheduling conflicts and had to opt out of certain projects. Nevertheless, her versatility and talent continued to attract attention, leading to numerous opportunities in various film industries. With her notable performances and commercial successes, Nikita Galrani has emerged as a prominent figure in the South Indian film fraternity, captivating audiences with her on-screen presence and acting prowess.
