Born to renowned filmmaker and actress Aparna Sen and science writer/journalist Mukul Sharma, Konkona was destined for a life in the arts. Her lineage includes illustrious figures like her maternal grandfather, Chidananda Dasgupta, a respected film critic and scholar, and her grandmother Supriya Dasgupta, who was related to the legendary Bengali poet Jibanananda Das. Sen Sharma’s journey in cinema began early, debuting as a child artist in the film “Indira” in 1983. However, it was her leading role in the Bengali thriller “Ek Je Aachhe Kanya” (2000) that marked her transition into adult roles.
