Koel Mallick, born Rukmini Mallick on April 28, 1982, is a renowned Indian actress primarily known for her work in Bengali cinema. Hailing from Kolkata, she was born to the esteemed Bengali film actor Ranjit Mallick and Deepa Mallick, belonging to the prestigious Mallick Bari of Bhowanipore. Mallick received her education at Modern High School for Girls before pursuing a BSc (honors) in psychology from Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta. Her academic pursuits paralleled her burgeoning career in the film industry. Mallick’s cinematic journey began with her debut in the 2003 film “Nater Guru” opposite Jeet, which proved to be a box office success, marking her entry into Tollywood.
