Gautam began his acting journey by doing ads for brands like Close Up, Center Fresh etc, he also featured in a music album, Tere Bina by Abhijeet Bhattacharya. He ventured into television with serials like Baa, Bahoo Aur Baby, a kids adventure show Lucky,the famous Aahat show with Maut Ka Khel, as a guest on Mallika-E-kitchen in season 1, Teri Meri Love Stories and many more roles serials like Rishtey, Jaahan Pyaar Mile, Hello Dollie, Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraayi Dhan, Sssshh… Phirrr Koi Hai!, Simply Sapney, Rubi, Mata Ki Chowki, Crime & Bollywood, Maan Rahe Tera Pita, Mera Naam Karegi Roshan and Parichay amongst many others.
