Amrinderpal Singh Virk, popularly known as Ammy Virk, is a multifaceted Indian talent renowned as a singer, actor, and producer primarily associated with Punjabi-language entertainment. Born on May 11, 1985, in Lohar Majra village, Nabha, Patiala, to a Sikh Jat family, Virk embarked on his journey in the entertainment industry after completing his education in Biotechnology from Punjabi University, Patiala. Virk’s foray into the world of entertainment began with singing, encouraged by his mother’s belief in his talent. He made a significant mark in the Punjabi music scene before transitioning to acting. In 2015, he made his acting debut with the historical romance film “Angrej,” portraying the character of Haakam. Despite initial critiques regarding his dialogue delivery, his performance earned him the Best Debut Actor Award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards, showcasing his potential as an actor. Continuing his acting career, Virk appeared in various films, including “Ardaas” (2016) and “Bambukat” (2016), where his performances were lauded by critics and audiences alike. His portrayal of “Channan Singh” in “Bambukat” earned him the Best Actor Award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards and the Best Actor Critics Award at the Filmfare Awards Punjabi. Subsequently, he garnered widespread acclaim for his role as “Nikka” in the “Nikka Zaildar” series.
