Abir Chatterjee, born on November 18, 1980, is a notable figure in Indian cinema, particularly renowned for his contributions to Bengali films. Coming from a background rooted in theatre, with parents Phalguni Chatterjee and Rumki Chatterjee, Abir embarked on his journey in the entertainment industry through Bengali television before making his debut in Bengali cinema with “Cross Connection” in 2009. His educational journey took him through Laban Hrad Vidyapith and Seth Anandaram Jaipuria College for his plus 2 education. He pursued higher studies, earning a B.Com degree from Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration and an MBA from the ICFAI University, Kolkata branch. In his personal life, Abir is married to Nandini Chatterjee, whom he wed in 2007. The couple shares a daughter named Mayurakshi Chatterjee. Abir is known for his passion for East Bengal football club. Abir’s acting prowess has been showcased in numerous Bengali serials such as “Proloy..asche,” “Ruposhi Bangla,” and “Sudhu Tomari Jonno,” among others. However, he gained significant recognition for his portrayal of iconic literary characters like Detective Byomkesh Bakshi and Feluda in Bengali cinema. Notably, Abir has portrayed Byomkesh Bakshi in two different series helmed by Anjan Dutt and Arindam Sil, respectively.
